Sarreguemines - Siamese - Elephant Oil Lamp - 1875
A very rare oil lamp from circa 1875 by Sarreguemines, in green glazed earthenware. A baluster shape decorated with a relief pattern of a mesh of hearts and lambrequins, a beautiful art nouveau pattern. The collar contains two very finely detailed elephant heads. 19th century work in an Asian style, verry special piece.
The glaze is really of very high quality, very well applied.

The lamp has a base and top made of bronze, beautifully detailed pieces in typical French style in beautiful condition, without any corrosion. At the top a ribbed opaline sphere made of glassware, completely original to this piece.
In generally good condition, An old crack at the back of the neck, perhaps due to tightening of the bronze work.
