A Ludwigsburg porcelain group with Apollo and Marsyas, from the 18th century circa 1765.

Verry important piece made by Johann Heinrich Schmidt who worked as boss at the Ludwigsburg porcelain factory from 1766.

The originality, origin, dating and designer have been confirmed by the Landesmuseum Württemberg, which holds the largest collection of ludwigsburg porcelain.
A very similar group can be seen there in the museum. 


According to the museum, this piece is very exceptional, the museum is not aware of any other similar pieces, these two are probably the only ones.

The group shows old restoration parts to the body parts of the figures. View the photos, these give a clear picture of the condition. Some parts such as twigs and leaves are missing.
